THE DESIGNER
I'm Alan, and I'm a professional web designer with 10+ years of experience making websites.
In that time I've learned to adopt amazing design techniques from every corner of the industry — brutalist type systems, motion-first storytelling, real-time 3D — and to leave the rest at the door. Vellum & Quill is what's left after a decade of cutting scope creep, endless revision rounds and meetings that could've been an email: one brief in, one bold site out, built and shipped fast.
NO CEILING
Order anything — clever interactions, custom 3D, WebGL scenes, generated art, whatever you can picture. Your creativity is the limit; turning it into a beautiful, working site is mine.
BEFORE YOU BRIEF
01DO YOU TAKE ON EVERY PROJECT?
No — every brief gets reviewed, and I only book the ones I'm confident I can deliver well. You'll hear back either way, usually within a day or two.
02WHAT DOES "ONE REVISION ROUND" ACTUALLY COVER?
Copy, images and content changes — swap text, swap photos, adjust wording. It's not a redesign round. Layout, structure and visual direction are my call to make; that's what you're booking a designer for.
03WHAT IF I DON'T LIKE THE DIRECTION?
Flag it in the revision round and I'll fix what's fixable within scope. A different visual direction entirely is a new commission — the price is set around delivering one strong direction, not several to pick from.
04HOW FAST DO I GET A DEMO?
Depends on ambition, but most briefs see a first working demo within a few days of booking.
05WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE $500?
A full custom-built site to your brief — design, build, one round of copy/image revisions, and handover of files or a live deployment. Bigger scopes (e-commerce, custom 3D/animation, multi-page systems) are quoted separately.
